BookWright
Guy Gallo's BookWright is an add-in template for Microsoft Word 97 or 2000 that simplifies formatting and organization of book-length manuscripts. It includes a "structure report" that gives chapter lengths, word counts in a session, etc. (I used BookWright to write Buying Travel Services on the Internet.)

If you're looking for a self-contained screenwriting program (as opposed to an extension of your word processor), look no further than the current version of this Screenplay Systems product that many working screenwriters and production companies use. Or, if you're on a budget and are writing "spec screenplays" for submission, try the same firm's Hollywood Screenwriter (a streamlined, stripped-down version of Movie Magic).
