Writing links

Writing.org began in 1996 as a collection of links to reference, rhetoric, publishing, and other Web sites of interest to writers. Over the years, Writing.org's mission has changed, and today it's a collection of "how-to" articles (some with links to third-party Web sites). Many other sites are better equipped to serve as Web directories; here are two worth exploring:

Writing On and With the Internet
This excellent collection of links is from Purdue University's Online Writing Lab. OWL was one of my original links back in 1996, and it's still a great place to find writing resources in and outside the academic community.

Publishing on About.com
Wendy Butler works in publishing has been an editor at a midsize book publisher. Her site dates back to April, 1997 and is packed with links and articles on writing and the publishing business.
